TESE-TESA
TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction) and TESA (Testicular Sperm Aspiration) are surgical procedures used to treat infertility issues in men. These procedures are performed to obtain sperm from men who have problems with sperm production.
TESE (Testicular Sperm Aspiration): TESE is a surgical procedure used to obtain sperm from the testicles. This procedure is typically performed for conditions where there is a decrease or absence of sperm production in men. TESE is usually conducted under a microscope, and sperm cells are aspirated from the testicular tissue.
TESA (Testicular Sperm Aspiration): TESA, like TESE, is a surgical procedure used to obtain sperm cells from the testicles. However, unlike TESE, TESA typically involves using a needle to aspirate sperm cells from the testicular tissue. TESA can often be performed in an office setting under local anesthesia.
Why is it used? TESE and TESA procedures are commonly used for couples experiencing infertility due to reduced or absent sperm production in men. These procedures enable couples struggling to conceive naturally to utilize assisted reproductive technologies (such as IVF). The sperm obtained can be used with techniques like IVF or ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection).
Post-Procedure Process: After TESE or TESA, the collected sperm sample is sent to the laboratory and prepared appropriately. Then, the obtained sperm sample is used to fertilize eggs during IVF or ICSI treatment.
TESE and TESA procedures are effective and reliable options for treating infertility issues in men. However, since each case is unique, it's important to consult with a urologist or reproductive endocrinologist to determine which method is appropriate.
